Here's a snapshot of my journey with God: I came to God in the fall of 1982 (at the same time my wife Kathy rededicated her life to God). I was 30 years old. I had been raised in church - but I had never personally accepted Jesus as my Savior and Lord. Several years after becoming a Christian I started to feel a call to pastor. I went to bible school in 1986-87 and started pastoring in 1988. And in 1992 we incorporated the church as- Agape Church of White County. I have kept a full time job most of the years I have pastored. (And for the last 7 years I have been blessed beyond measure by the privilege of working at FamilyLife ministry in Little Rock.) Getting back to the church - I simply refer to Agape Church as a Christian church (We would be described by some as a charismatic church - but I prefer to simply be referred to as a Christian church.) Our focus is on God's GRACE and the journey we all have the privilege of being on. It's a journey into the heart of God. It's a journey that is both joyous and painful. The "woundedness" of most human beings, necessitates a lot of healing along the way. A lot of cooperating with God as we see and own our heart problems (wounds), humble ourselves and cry out for His redeeming power to touch our lives. Most of my teachings over the last ten years have been about my personal journey with God. My transparency has blessed some but scared others away. That's OK, I'm doing what I believe Daddy (God) wants me to do - and that's the main thing. He is so loving and merciful and faithful. I cannot put in words how much I love Him...The journey continues.
